RATS

Rats are one of the worst pest infestations and it can be extremely upsetting to find rats in and around your property.

Rats are exceptionally unsanitary and are a serious hazard to public health. Aside from the health risks, rats can damage electric cables, pipe work and buildings.

Signs of rats

Customers typically discover the presents of rats by finding rat droppings, evidence of gnawing, hearing scurrying in the property or damage to stored items.

Rats are more common in the home during the winter months, but they can be present at any time of year.

How do we treat rats?

Prestige Pest Management will find the source of the infestation and use trapping or treatment methods to rid the property of rats.

Drainage is the number one cause of rat infestations, breakages in pipe work or built over drainage systems from an extension that hasn’t been properly capped off. We have the CCTV drain inspection cameras, to carry out non-invasive inspections of your drains and pipework. The cameras are able to record video footage, as well as capture still images.

Fitting a rodent one way valve is a highly effective solution, the device can be fitted in any suitable 100mm and 150mm (4 inch and 6 inch) drain. They can be fitted in both plastic, clay and cast iron. The rat flap stops rats climbing up drain pipes and exiting via redundant or faulty pipe work. The unit can be configured for an inlet or outlet position.
